The stage is being set for Evening in the Maritimes' magnificent Silver Anniversary on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, another remarkable night of the hospitality and generosity of the East Coast. Evening in the Maritimes is Ottawa's Premier East Coast Kitchen Party, now in its 25th year! At this highly anticipated event, guests will experience an authentic East Coast party full of food (can you say fresh North Atlantic lobster), drinks, friends, and fun! In addition, they will be demonstrating their vital support for Citizen Advocacy's work to reduce the isolation of people living with disabilities.

For over two decades, Evening in the Maritimes has raised more than $3 million for Citizen Advocacy Ottawa. Citizen Advocacy supports people of all ages across the disability spectrum. Many of them are alone, isolated and vulnerable. Citizen Advocacy establishes a match between a volunteer and a person with a disability ensuring participation in community life, companionship, emotional support and everyday help. Over the years, the magic of these intentional friendships has transformed lives and resulted in rewarding relationships that have flourished over decades.

"For 25 years, Evening in the Maritimes has been raising critical funds to support our work reducing isolation and building meaningful relationships," says Heather Lacey, Executive Director of Citizen Advocacy. "People need people. This is at the heart of Citizen Advocacy’s work matching people living with disabilities to volunteers in our community."

Among Honorary Co-Chairs Senator Vernon White and David Cork, Director, Scotia McLeod, over 700 high-profile and influential guests will be in attendance, including the most prominent business, medical, political, government, diplomatic, and community leaders, media, and prestigious social figures. Some notable guests from the 2018 dinner include Brian Tardif, executive director of Citizen Advocacy, German Ambassador Sabine Sparwasser, University of Ottawa adjunct law professor, Penny Collenette, and more! The organizers are pleased to welcome back CTV's Graham Richardson to host this very special evening.

Other highlights include the exceptional silent auction and exciting balloon raffle (with all balloons popped in unison), the outstanding live auction with auctioneer Lawrence Greenspon, and down-east fun and entertainment.

This year's dinner will take place at Hilton Lac Leamy, a venue anticipated to be decorated as bright as the technicolour towns that line the Maritimes' oceanside. The reception begins at 5:30PM and the sit-down dinner starts at 6:30PM. To learn more about the event and to purchase your tickets visit eveninginthemaritimes.com.
