Just in time for #PinotNoirDay, Brunette The Label has partnered with Meiomi Wines to bring wine lovers a wine that’s wearable. The limited-edition “Pinot Please” sweater fuses Meiomi’s style, grace and elegance from the glass into your closet.

The collaboration builds on the ‘Babes Supporting Babes’ movement and highlights the coastal California winemaker, Melissa Stackhouse - the powerhouse guardian of the Meiomi range. For Brunette The Label, Stackhouse represents the ultimate ‘babe’ forging ahead in an industry dominated by men. 

“To us, babes supporting babes is about collaboration over competition, and always making room to grow together. It is choosing to take yourself out of the equation and always choosing to support one another” said Miriam Alden, the Vancouver entrepreneur behind Brunette The Label.

Founded in early 2014, Brunette The Label is a clothing brand based in Vancouver, BC carrying products designed passionately in Canada by their ‘babes’ at the Brunette Headquarters. Brunette believes the word ‘babe’ to be a way of life, and strives to create a community that is inclusive of all babes.

Brunette is well known for its bold and cheeky sweatshirts making the “Pinot Please” collaboration an easy fit. “We are known for our wine-inspired slogans and Meiomi approached us wanting to collaborate on a sweater that celebrated this grape variety. Knowing how delicious Meiomi Pinot Noir is, we jumped at the chance to partner with them and are excited to include Pinot Please in our fall collection” said Alden.

The notion of women supporting one another was a key factor in the collaboration for Meiomi Wines.

“We chose to work with Brunette The Label because they are a proudly Canadian brand with a mission to create a community of women supporting one another. The “Pinto Please” sweater collaboration came naturally because of the brand’s love for wine, especially the Meiomi Pinot Noir” said Melissa Stackhouse, Director of Winemaking at Meiomi Wines.

Being the first collaboration for Meiomi, the brand is now considering others.

“There have been a lot of collaborations in recent years between fashion, art and food and beverage, like Dolce and Gabbana x Smeg and Jeremy Scott’s McDonalds inspired collection, or Andy Warhol for Absolut. I believe people are passionate about what they drink as much as what they wear, and our collaboration with Brunette The Label is a fun and light-hearted way to wear your favourite wine like Meiomi Pinot Noir, on your sleeve, if you will” said Stackhouse.

What initially started as sweatshirts with “Brunette” and “Blonde”, has quickly grown to include a full range of slogan sweaters and separates ranging from “Babes Who Brunch” and “Rosé Okay” and now “Pinot Please”.

This fall, incorporating wine into your wardrobe has never been easier with Brunette’s homage to Meiomi’s Pinot Noir.
